I was pleased to speak in the House of Commons about the Liberals’ terrible record on battling the COVID pandemic. Click on the video below to watch my member’s statement.
Scores of countries have contained the COVID-19 virus. What’s one thing most of those countries have in common? A strong border policy for limiting international spread.
This common sense approach is backed by the evidence. Yet, the Liberals have continuously failed to secure the border.
For example, as early as February 2020 we Conservatives were calling for stricter border controls for COVID-19 hot spots, but the Liberals wasted more than a month before they implemented even modest border controls.
The steps they have taken are half measures that recklessly allows the transmission of new COVID-19 variants into Canada.
One expert called Trudeau’s border measures a “Swiss-cheese policy” because it has so many loopholes.
Now we’re in a situation where the government is having to consider even more stringent travel bans. It did not have to come to this.
Canadians deserve better.
Gotta love this mural on a building in the historic Highlands neighbourhood that’s part of my Edmonton Griesbach federal riding. What’s your favourite mural in Edmonton? Send them my way at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a comment when you do a survey.
