Does Canada need electoral reform?

I believe that preferential ballots as is currently used in selecting the leader of the Conservative party of Canada the Liberal party of Canada the new Democratic Party the provincial progressive Conservative party and the provincial Liberal parties of Alberta provide an accurate representation of what the population constituents truly want. It allows for people to select their first choice based on their ideology but allows a secondary choice if they do not feel their first choice has a strong enough chance to defeat the choice that they are most opposed to.
